Important Update: Temporary Closure of Yellow Bay State Park

Beginning March 17, 2025, the Yellow Bay Unit of Flathead Lake State Park will close for upgrades and renovations, with an expected reopening on July 1, 2025. Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks has awarded a construction contract to pave roads, relocate campsites, install a new latrine, and add an adaptive kayak launch at the park’s boat ramp. For public safety, the entire park, including the boat ramp, will be closed during construction. Yellow Bay Paddle Board LLC will open for the season after the park reopens, with a tentative opening date of July 5, 2025.

We are open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 AM to 7 PM, throughout July and August (weather permitting). For your safety, we may close on days with adverse lake conditions—be sure to check the weather forecast before planning your visit. We are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

  • August 2nd and 9th
